Insurance and scope

What we hold, and what we don't

Handyman repairs don't need a state license in Nebraska. Here is what we carry and where the limits are.

  • Insurance

    • General liability insurance

      Certificate sent on request

  • Scope of the work

    • Small repairs only

Jobs that fit a two-hour visit, with our own tools, and nothing that needs a permit.

    • Specialty work is referred out

Electrical, plumbing, gas and roofing go to firms that hold the license for it. We tell you who to call.

    • Older homes

In a home built before 1978 we stay under the EPA's minor-repair limits and refer larger paint work to a certified firm.

A note on licensing

Nebraska doesn't license handyman repair work at the state level, and the City of Omaha has its own rules for contractors and permits. The owner confirms what applies to the jobs she takes and keeps this page current.

If a job needs a permit, a licensed electrician or a licensed plumber, we say so before we start and point you to someone who holds the license.

Questions about insurance and scope

Can I see the insurance certificate?

Yes. Text or email us and we'll send it before the first visit.

Do you pull permits?

No. Work that needs a permit is outside the plan.

Does the plan cover repairs to things that break?

No. It buys time on your list. It doesn't pay to fix things that break.

Questions about scope?

Text us the job and we'll say whether it fits.
